Access Statement for The Royal Hotel Inn

Introduction We aim to cater for the needs of all visitors to the royal hotel. The following statement is a summary of our provision. If you have any specific questions please feel free to call us and we will endeavour to help Pre-Arrival

  • You can contact us via Phone, Email or Website
  • Train stations. Sheffield Central or Meadow Hall interchange. (distance 5-6 miles, aprox 30mins by car/taxi
  • Trams available from both train stations which stop at Hillsborough interchange.
  • Bus service available, South Yorkshire Transport buses 61/62. This stops virtually outside and opposite the premises and runs from Hillsborough interchange.
  • Public house and Accomodation only suitable for guests with Mobility/visual impairment, who are accompanied (to ensure the safety of the guest)
  • Guide dogs are welcome and water bowls can be provided. As we have a dog ourselves please let us know before arrival so we can make sure our dog (Jessie) is not about when you arrive.

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities

  • Parking is available off road in the car park where accomodation is situated round the back of the public house. Access is at the side of the pub going down a slope.
  • There are 10 parking spaces
  • You may reserve spaces in the car park.
  • If assistance is required with parking or luggage please contact to arrange.
  • How ever on arrival you can park outside the pub main entrance.
  • Surface in the car park is tarmac with a concrete path round the edge of the accomodation block. There is a slight kerb round the path.

Main Entrance, Reception & Ticketing Area

  • On arrival all guests should use the main entrance to the pub this is located on the main road.
  • The door is on the Right hand side of the porch, this open inwards to the left. There is a slight raised bar underfoot. The main door is located immediatly to your right on entering the porch, this opens outwards to the left. Just inside the main door are 2 inner doors these open towards you.
  • There is a walkway to the bar area passing a room on your left.
  • Reception is located in the main bar area to the right of the walkway.
  • Music can be turned down on request.
  • Pad and pen is available.
  • Additional keys to rooms are available on request.
  • Seating is available in main bar/reception.
  • Main entrance is pub hours 1800-2300 weekdays. 1200-2300 saturday. 1200-1600, 1900-2230 sundays. If arrival is out of these hours please call us and someone will be on site to meet you.
  • Porch has a concrete floor, walkway carpeted, bar area rock ashphelt, all seated areas carpeted.
  • Familiarisation tour is available on request.

Public Areas - Hall, Stairs, Landing, Corridors etc

  • Walkway in pub as described in main entrance section
  • Corridor to toilets is on the left side of the bar as you look at it. There is a wooden/glass door this opens away from you to the left side. Corridor is painted red rock ashphelt. As you go through the door there is a step down aproximatly 6-8 inches. The corridor leads to the ladies and gents toilets.
  • Corridor is well lit, natural light in the day, ceiling lights when dark.
  • Gents toilet is round the corner straight ahead.
  • Ladies toilet is to the right just round the corner.

Public Areas - Sitting room, lounges, lobbies etc

  • Room on the left of Main walkway is carpeted with fixed seating round the edge of the room. There are 3 tables with moveable seats/stools.
  • Room left hand side as looking at the bar is carpeted with fixed seating round the edge of the room. There are 4 small pedestal tables with moveable stools.
  • Room right hand side as looking at the bar is carpeted with fixed seating roung the edge of the room. There are 5 tables with moveable seats/stools.

Public WCs

  • Toilets located down corridor as mentioned in public areas.
  • Ladies toilet door open inwards to the left straight ahead is small sink, turning to right is L shaped walkway to 2 toilets, doors open inwards. coat hooks inside cubicles.
  • Mens toilet door opens inwards to the right. Straight ahead is a small cupboard. Turn right. Straight ahead, toilet cubicle door open inwards. Coat hook inside cubicle, at side of cubicle to the left is a square open space, 3 urinals on back wall and sink on right hand side as you look at the urinals.
  • No Adult/Baby changing facilities.
  • No emergency pull cord

Restaurant / Dining Room, Bar & Bar area, Take Away & Cafe

  • Breakfast is served in the pub. The space on the left of the bar is usually used.
  • If you would like to eat elsewhere in the pub please let us know in advance as this can be arranged.
  • There is no seperate restaurant.

Bedrooms & Sleeping Areas

  • 3 bedrooms located in the annex at the rear of the pub in the car park.
  • All the rooms are the same size.
  • 2 twin rooms and 1 double room.
  • Upvc doors, there is a step up into the room aprox 6 inches.
  • Beds are located to the left as you enter the room which leaves a gap at the bottom of the beds. The gap runs the length of the room to the Ensuite.
  • Furniture is moveable on request.
  • Each room has bedside table, bedside lamps, chest of 3 draws, mirror, wall shelf.
  • wardrobe is built in with curtain to cover the front of it.

Bathroom, Shower-room & WC [Ensuite or Shared]

  • En-suite Shower room, door opens out to the left.
  • Straight ahead small sink on back wall with perspex shelf, which holds 2 glasses and hand wash, above shelf is a mirror.
  • left hand side toilet.
  • Right hand side, shower cubicle, plastic tray slightly raised 2 inches, perspex doors consertinad opening to the left side.
  • Shower is larger size than normal
