Proceed to the end of Holme Lane (from Hillsborough/Penistone Road) where the Rivelin Valley Road, Stannington Road & Loxley Road meet on the one-way system. From here, you can take either the Stannington Road or the Loxley Road. Below are directions for both ways:
Large car park. Accessible via local bus routes 61/62. Bus stops outside the pub. Families looking for a place to relax with small children look no further!
Stannington Road - Dungworth
On entering the one-way system, turn second left on to Stannington Road B6076.
After the tower block flats on the right, you need to turn right, in front of The Sportsman pub. (This is still Stannington Road B6076).
Carry straight on this road through the village and out into the countryside. You will pass Underbank Chapel on your right, and further on Dyson Refactories on your left. Carry on up the hill and down the other side. You are now in Dungworth.
As you enter the village, The Royal Hotel is directly after a small row
of cottages on the right. (Still the B6076).
Loxley Road - Dungworth
On entering the one-way system, turn third left onto Loxley Road B6077.
Continue on this road through Loxley and on towards Bradfield.
You will pass The Nag's Head pub on your left.
Turn first left after The Nag's Head across the Dam Flask Bridge (in front of the Dam) - follow the road and take the first road on the left. (a very concealed left turn up the hill - signposted "Dungworth").
Carry on up the hill into the village and the Royal Hotel is on your left.
From M1 (Northbound)
Leave the M1 at Junction 33 and head into Sheffield.
From Sheffield, initially take A61N and then A57 (Glossop).
The last buildings as you leave Sheffield on the A57 are The Bell Hagg pub and opposite the Valleyside Garden Centre.
About ¾ mile later, take the first right (Rails Road). Go straight across at the crossroads and continue up Rails Road until you enter Stannington.
After the Stannington sign, take the third left, passing Stannington Church on your
right and The Hare & Hounds pub on your left.
After The Hare & Hounds, take the second left, passing The Rose & Crown pub on your right.
At the T-junction, turn left out into the countryside.
You will pass Underbank Chapel on your right, and further on Dyson Refactories on your left. Carry on up the hill and down the other side. You are now in Dungworth.
